How Long Does It Take To Detoxify My Body?

Monday, 22 April 2013 06:48

The answer to this might surprise you, but before we can answer this question we need to understand how our bodies react to toxic metals and chemicals. A good analogy to understand how our bodies have evolved is that of our knives in our kitchen drawers. Those knives are useful, and without them we would struggle to make our daily meals. The reality is that they have a dangerous function as well, and we can get cut very easily if we are not careful with them. To try and avoid this we store our knives away in the drawer. This is also how our body works. It needs to store the required but more dangerous minerals and metals as well as the extremely dangerous toxic metals and chemicals.

This applies to those required minerals such as copper and iron that are more electronegative than hydrogen. As a result these metals and toxins will get stored deeply in the body if they are in excess over a long period of time. This is called the "layers of adaptation." Our bodies adapt to stress by altering themselves moment to moment, and day to day. These adaptations build up layer by layer with each adaptation requiring more of the body's energy so that as one ages, less and less energy is available for all other bodily activities.

With toxic metals we have five containment systems in the body and they are lipoic acid, glutathione, ferritin, metallothionine, and caeruloplasmin. These are best thought of a prison cells that we lock up our dangerous criminals in. Without them we would have no place to store the toxic metals and they would wreak havoc on our bodies. A large part of the problem is that nutrient deficiencies and other cellular processes require these containment systems and there is often not enough of these "jails" to do the job when the toxic metals are present.

In general, a hair analysis reveals the outer layer of many layers of adaptations or compensations that have occurred during a person's life. Repeat hair tests, assuming one follows a properly designed nutritional balancing program, reveal ever deeper layers of adaptation. Nutritional balancing reverses this process. The goal is to reduce the adaptations the body must make, which frees energy for more healing and for all other activities Most layers must be corrected one at a time. As this is done, it frees the body's healing power a little bit, which, in turn, uncover or brings to the surface a deeper layer to be healed.  To see an example look at the pictures below specifically at the level of copper.  In the first analysis you can see the level of copper was normal at 2.3mg%.  After being on a nutritional balancing program for 5 months the level of copper shot up to 27.6%!  This represents a "layer" of copper that was hidden deep in the bodies tissues and was now being eliminated and therefore measured in the hair as it came out.

So, the answer to our question of how long it takes to detoxify the body lies in these fascinating fact about our bodies. It can sometimes take years, in fact, to uncover the most superficial layers of human imbalances. As these layers are uncovered and unwound, all physical and emotional symptoms and diseases tend to vanish because they were simply evidence of adaptations and compensations.
